A Dial Thermometer is a mechanical device that utilizes metal pointer on a circular scale to indicate temperature measurements. It is also known as a differential absorption lidar thermometer. The two most important components of the Dial Thermometer is metal pointer or needle and temperature sensor. These sensors can be based on vapor-tension, liquid or gas filled, and bi-metal or bimetallic. A bi-metal dial thermometer uses coil spring technology to indicate the temperature measurements. Herein, the sensing device is developed from two different metals that are fastened or welded together like copper and steel or brass and steel. The combination depends upon the low heat sensitivity and high heat sensitivity.
