Magnifier is a widely used optical instrument. It is a convex lens that is used to produce a magnified image of an object. The lens in a magnifier is usually mounted in a frame with a handle, and thus very easy to use/handle. Apart from hand held magnifier, there are various other types such as spectacle mounted, floor or wall mounted, stand magnifier, and more. A sheet magnifier includes very narrow concentric ring-shaped lenses. The arrangement of lenses is in such a way that the combination acts as a single lens but is much thinner and is known as a Fresnel lens.
