A most common ophthalmology instrument, Phoropter is used for examining the eye and measuring its refractive errors. The results received by a phoropter are given in the form of minus (-) or plus (+) numbers that signify the power lenses required for distant vision and nearer (reading) vision, respectively. This eye instrument contains a number of lenses, which makes it easier for the practitioner to change the lens power and determine the exact power with which the person sees clearly.
