IV Sets or Intra Venous sets are a class of simple instruments used to inject fluids or liquids directly into the veins of a patient. Therapies administered intravenously are often called specialty pharmaceuticals. Also known as a drip, a typical I.V set consists of a plastic container that holds the fluid to be injected and a needle, that is inserted into the veins, connected by a rubber tube. The container or the tube also features a knob that controls, maintains and allows an estimation of flow rate. The intravenous methods is the most effective and is the method to fastest deliver fluids and medications throughout the body.
