Apparatus is generally referred to the hardware products used in a chemistry lab. The apparatuses are primarily made of plastic or glass materials. Some of the plastic materials used for manufacturing different types of laboratory apparatus are polystyrene, polypropylene, PVC, HDPE, LDPE, PP, etc. Materials such as borosilicate or pyrex are types of glass used for manufacturing laboratory glassware.
Plastic apparatuses are in heavy demand across laboratories. These are light in weight, less fragile, less expensive, and require less maintenance than the glass apparatus. In research, educational, or scientific laboratories where the apparatus are prone to breakages, plastic apparatuses are suitable to use. These can also be used as disposables.
