Elisa Plate is lab equipment used for performing ELISA (Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), which is a "wet-lab" type analytic biochemistry assay that makes use of one sub-type of heterogeneous, solid-phase enzyme immunoassay (EIA) to find out the presence of a substance in a liquid sample. Elisa plates are required in the process of binding assays when consistent coating of wells is needed. The substance which is to be detected through ELISA is generally called ‘analyte.’ During the process, the analyte will specifically bind to a detection reagent, which is usually coated and dried onto the transparent bottom and sometimes also on the side wall of a well. The well here is part of a multi-well plate known as the Elisa Plate.
