Cryo Rack is high utility equipment used for holding tubes in a laboratory. The equipment come in various designs and sizes for holding tubes of variegated length and diameter. These are primarily used for storage, freezing and boxing of tubes in laboratories as well as a utilized in tissue culture and laboratory technology.

The most common type of Cryo Rack is perfect for the space-efficient storage of 0.5 ml, 1.5 ml, and 2.0 ml microtubes and cryovials. There are, however, other types of Cryo racks for the storage of different types of tubes. Some are also labeled with numbers to get easy access to the tube containing specific sample.

The designs of cryo rack include a singular layer with slots for keeping the tubes and multiple layer rack with slots in each layer for holding microtubes. Cryo Racks are generally made of glass or plastic such as polypropylene. The cryo racks help protect samples from airborne contaminants and frost buildup.
