Burettes are vertical cylindrical pieces having volumetric graduation on the entire body, a precision tap, and a stopcock with bore and plug located on the bottom. It is used to measure, separate or dispense a considerable amount of liquid reagent during an experiment. Burettes are mostly used in Titration experiment owing to its high level accuracy like a 50 cm3 burette has a tolerance of 0.1 cm3 (class B) or 0.06 cm3 (class A). These are also used to calibrate the volume of other glassware like cylinders. Usually, Burettes are fabricated from borosilicate glass with PTFE (Teflon) stopcocks.
