TOC Analyzer is a scientific instrument used to determine the total organic carbon, which is the amount of carbon bound in an organic compound. This chemical property is often understood as a non-specific indicator of water quality or hygiene level of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.

TOC is a technique used in the process of water purification. In this process, a TOC analyser assists in determining the presence of carbon as well as the inorganic carbon in water. Inorganic carbon, here, represents the amount of dissolved carbon dioxide and carbonic salts. Thus, subtracting the inorganic carbon from the total carbon gives the value of TOC.

TOC analyzers are ideal for monitoring rivers, lakes, and oceans. These are also used to assist in the management of water from public sources, waste-water, and manufacturing processes apart from the pharmaceutical industry.
