A Photo Colorimeter is a device used to measure the absorbance of different wavelengths of light in a solution. It can be used to measure the concentration of a known solute. The instrument is used in colorimetry, which is the science of quantifying and describing physically the human colour perception. This is a very useful device invented to measure the aforementioned phenomenon.

Technically, different chemical substance absorbs different wavelengths of light. The solution absorbs more light when the concentration of the solute is higher. Some photo colorimeters are digital, which is one of the precision engineered colorimeters use in colorimetry. Such meters are easy to operate and provide accurate measurement of the wavelengths of different light in a solution.
