Anesthesia Machines was invented by the British anesthetist H.E.G. Boyle in 1917. The machine is used by anaesthesiologists to support the administration of anesthesia. The machine helps in inhaling anaesthetic gases and vapors and for controlling ventilation. There are various function of anesthesia machines which includes:
  1. Supply of medical gases
  2. A flow meter to measure gas flows
  3. Vaporizers for vaporization
  4. Combining the anesthetic agents with oxygen and nitrous oxide gases
  5. Deliver the anesthetic gas mixture
  6. Monitoring equipment or gauges
  7. Collect and discharge excess gas.
