Graduated Beakers are beakers with volume marking on its side walls for measuring the amount of liquid contained in it. It is a very useful piece of laboratory apparatus often with a spout at the top rim that aids in easy pouring of liquids into another container. Graduated beakers are extremely handy in lab procedures where a definite amount of liquid is to be transferred into another vessel or required to be added to an on-going chemical reaction.
Graduated beaker is similar to a graduated cylinder in function but is slightly less precise. Both beakers and graduated cylinders have volume marking but the markings on a graduated cylinder are much more accurate than those on a beaker. Graduated beakers are generally made of glass such as borosilicate glass and plastic such as polypropylene.
